Just another girl trying to look nice
Take a minute to read: An old man in a fitness class…

So today I wend to my Triple Decker fitness class as always. The one that consists of 20mins of aerobics, 20min of aerobics with step and 20mins of LBT.

There was this man around 55-60yo standing to my left. He didn’t feel the rythm at all, hardly followed the routine, made mistakes during easy steps… I can tell it must have been his first time in such fitness class. I had to bite my lips not to smile but not in a judging way but because I admired him and didn’t want him to think I was making fun of him.

And then there were 3 20-23yo girls standing next to me on the right side (so I was the only one standing between the man and the girls). And they kept laughing and whispering. It was obvious they were making fun of him. I honestly wanted to hit them with my step box as hard as I could.

I started to watch them and realised that they were even worse than the man. Most of the time they looked confused, stopped in the middle of routine or steps because they were tired or whatever. Quite soon they stopped laughing.

The difference between them: the man was more than twice their age but didn’t stop for a moment. He might have done steps wrong or in a way he wanted but he kept going

Thus, before you judge someone working out in a gym, fitness class, a park or wherever else, first look at yourself. Everyone who works out is worth all the respect no matter what.
